The pandemic has taken everyone in this world by storm. In just a blink of an eye, we understood the gravity of a global health crisis. Mandatorily, we were made to wear face masks and to some extent, even face shields. This preventive measure was effective in COVID prevention, but it also caused people to be lazy on enhancing their looks.

People stopped their skincare routine and just ditched using their makeup. Worse, they also started throwing away their sunscreen. Oh no! Some would argue that they don’t need to put on makeup because no one’s going to see their face anyway due to masks and face shields but there is a danger in skipping this routine. Whether we admit it or not, makeup is an essential part of people’s lives. It helps us in our confidence. It makes us feel more beautiful. It certainly has an effect on our self-esteem. Not only that, makeup is an art and a form of self-expression.

Liking what we see in front of the mirror should be more important than liking what other people see on us. Keep moisturizing. Keep gliding your favorite lipstick on your lips. Keep dabbing that peachy blush on the apple of your cheeks. Do these things because you want to feel good for yourself and not because someone will see you all dolled up.
